Stephen picked up his first guitar at age 15 and wrote his first song at 16 — sparking a lifelong passion for songwriting. In the 1980s, he earned national recognition when two of his songs, Does the Ring Hurt Your Finger and Stop! Read My Lips, charted in the Top 100 Country Cashbox Chart.
